fakCompleted my charity runner application for Tokyo marathon 2025 to try and complete my six star. Last year I tried and was rejected after two different essay writing rounds. This year I've gone for a charity that picks the 240 highest donation amounts, and if tied the earliest applications. I've gone as high as I can, if it's not enough, it's not enough. At least the money goes to a charity rather than a tour operator (30 places for the whole of the UK). Wish me luck! #running #sixstar
I had previously applied under the 'semi-elite' category, as my fastest time was well within their suggestions, but they have reduced the number of places from 250 to 25 and I'm only two minutes under, so no chance there. After that it's the general ballot, then the extra ballot run by the organisers of the six star medal for those who just need Tokyo in order to complete. I'll quite possibly get outbid by people who could pay for a tour place, but I have a budget to stick to.
Damn, the number of applicants has already exceeded the number of places, and applications are being taken for another 2 weeks. My budget does not compare with others trying to get their #sixstar so it's not looking great so far #running #ukrunchat
