Which I think Boggs overstates a bit there, because the campaign reports in FFC & MoOD&D *do* have Chainmail, er, CHAINMAIL die rolls and stats mentioned, the weapon skills are all CHAINMAIL, and experience is CHAINMAIL victory points.

Dave built the first RPG on a wargame's rules. Didn't have to, there were other game types & systems of the time, but it's denial to say otherwise.
