Men I don’t know have been yelling at me for about 24 hours about how I am promoting toxicity and misinformation and am a narcissist and a bully in replies to my short thread about how it would be super nice to have control over replies here. To give people who for some reason don’t find people yelling at them to be the highest form of online communication a way to participate in public life online.
Many perfectly reasonable comments agreeing and disagreeing, but like…lordy.

"Narcissist and a bully?" Seems about what they told me when I told some guy off for suggesting it was censorship that people I blocked couldn't read my posts, but with the added edge of "talking to a woman I don't like so I have to be completely unreasonably toxic in my replies".
Seriously tho, how does someone draw that conclusion? Soon they will call people bullies for locking their front doors.
@WhyNotZoidberg I guess it was that I pointed out that Mastodon and ActivityPub devs are both working on implementing the features I was talking about, which I mentioned bc so many dudes kept telling me I had to just accept that this is how the system works.
So he decided I made them do it, thus bullying them into, uh, “serving” me. The chronology for this would have to involve time travel but I am apparently very powerful.
@kissane @WhyNotZoidberg I think we’d all like to think we’d be responsible and thoughtful users of time travel but I would probably devolve to petty shit within like…a week.
Or whatever “a week” means in that situation.
