Last night, we wrapped up the last session of Elysium Rise, the Revolution-on-Mars game I’ve been running since February. It all came down to a negotiation/trap with the head of the military as the done he controlled was having trouble with air and water. In the ensuing firefight, one character sacrificed his life to take down the general. There was a tearful funeral, much planning for the future, and bioluminescent bunnies.

That game was messy at times, but I’m pretty proud of it. My players really brought it.

Now I get to thankfully slip back into the ranks of the players as we start to brainstorm about a 1940s Hollywood/detective film noir/Red Scare game…with some supernatural. I’m so excited.

@Athenalindia It's great that you have a new upcoming game to get excited about as the previous game wraps. I know I find that really helpful for not falling into a low following the high of a satisfactory conclusion. My wife and I trade off running campaigns, so GMing always gets followed by PCing.

#ttrpg

@jendefer Yes, my husband and one of our friends tend to trade off running games, and every few years I throw my hat in the ring - I enjoy playing more than running, but every once in a while I get the itch to GM!

@jendefer Am I going to use my Pulp #Tarot for my character creation for the new game? Darn right I am!

#roleplaying #ttrpg

@Athenalindia Are you already familiar with Decuma? It's a tarot-based #ttrpg tool for world building and character connections.
@jendefer I’m not, I’ll have to check it out!
@jendefer @Athenalindia have used Decuma for several one shots. Either solo or in support of other systems. It is a brill tool. However I found it too emotionally draining and dark. We jokingly called it Depressema. Everyone should try it. YMMV. #decuma #ttrpg
@jendefer @Athenalindia gasp! Genius. 🤩
@Sadsquatch @jendefer I’ve been doing it for a while! I put together a worksheets for an involved character creation, I’ll see if I can find it to post. (It’s a modified twelve-house spread, with a couple of key words pulled out for each position.)
