👔👞👗 🧑🏻‍💻 Does your office have a dress code?

@nixCraft Home Office.

Yeah, uh, no. Mostly no.

@nixCraft no, but I still like to dress nicely
@nixCraft I WFH from another country and don't do any video meetings, so I can do whatever I want. Only rule I've set myself is to actually just be clothed at all times =D
@nixCraft not necessarily, just look clean and presentable
@nixCraft no, but you can't just go to work naked for example, or bare feet
@bargoderea @nixCraft No bare feet? What country do you work in?
@lacraia @nixCraft I meant no naked feet if you catch my meaning, shoes are the minimum required
@bargoderea @nixCraft I understood that. To me it’s a weird rule. That’s why I asked for which country you work in. I mean, it can be a cultural thing.
@lacraia @nixCraft I see, cultural thing, where I am from is not the issue, we have traditional jobs that may require bare feet, but I think @nixCraft meant to ask this to more IT people, and it's odd if I can find an IT guy working with bare feet
@bargoderea @nixCraft it’s totally fine being barefoot at EA in Sweden.
@nixCraft I tend to wear shorts in my home office
@nixCraft
I worked at a firm who introduced a Shoe Code!
The previous dress code was relaxed meaning we could wear jeans and t-shirts but management took umbrage at sandals 🤦‍♂️
@nixCraft Yes ; geek t-shirts are mandatory, ties are prohibited.
@jlecour @nixCraft where do I apply? 100+ geek t-shirts

@nixCraft Only in the sense that I probably shouldn't join VCs naked. (I WFH).

In the past, dress code at actual offices was roughly: "Just wear _something_"

The joys of not having to meet customers.

@nixCraft
Talking 20+ years ago, boss insisted we wore a suit.. Even us techs going out on site installing cabling or rooting about under desks. I wore out so many trousers.. He eventually relented and provided branded polo shirts and let us wear jeans. Much more practical, but I did notice a distinct drop in the level of respect we got when arriving at a customers premises. (apart from those who knew us well)
@nixCraft Office is a cabin in the garden. Dress code is shorts and teeshirt. Hoodie and slippers allowed in the winter.
@nixCraft Yeah, you have to wear clothes.
@nixCraft Well, I've been told that yes, but even boss does not respect it. So I guess right answer is no 😄
@nixCraft Such kind of dress code? <s>https://github.com/Cute-Dress/Dress</s>

@nixCraft I'm currently unemployed, so... no, lol
@nixCraft Theoretically yes but my company also closed nearly all their remote offices so I'm in my own basement scrupulously avoiding turning on video for conference calls.
