it’s so important to remind young people that their lives won’t end at 30. their lives will end in a war fought over earth’s dwindling supplies of clean drinking water, probably when they’re like 28.

@VeryBadLlama @lisamelton

If you were Gen X and Australian you expected this

@pewnack @VeryBadLlama @lisamelton my first Oils album around ‘84
Quickly worked my way through the rest!
@bgrinter @VeryBadLlama @lisamelton I can see my house from here!
@andrewfeeney @VeryBadLlama @lisamelton as a teenager in the 80s I was so concerned I’d measure the distance from the CBD “are we in the potential blast zone? Maybe we should move to Penrith or over the mountains?” - different times 😝
@bgrinter @VeryBadLlama @lisamelton You’re probably going to want to be over the mountains. You’d get a little bit of cover, but more importantly the Great Western Highway is going to be a mess. Better off starting your flight from Lithgow or Orange or something.
@andrewfeeney @VeryBadLlama @lisamelton Mad Max Beyond Thumderdome also convinced me I should get a Geiger counter, rugged off road vehicle and learn to make weapons from household utilities like a fly swatter 😉
@VeryBadLlama cmon the billionaires don't have that many guards and they are not that strong
@VeryBadLlama How old are these young people now?
@VeryBadLlama I find myself apologizing to my friend's children on a regular basis now, for all the things that they will have to deal with, very likely before they're half my age... Mostly climate related stuff, but often politics and economy and housing and cost-of-living.

@VeryBadLlama

for as sad as may look, somebody said that generations born after 1960 most likelly may die of violent death ...

rational thinking that plants die of starvation and animals of conflict (the former part of the later) ...

capitalism / elitism has declared war to the people ...

@VeryBadLlama
Fear no more of dying in old age... Yay 😅
