Congratulations to #EmmaMcKeon on her qualification for #Paris2024 in a couple of events at the #AustralianOlympicTrials . This will be her final Olympics, representing the #Australian #Dolphins : their most "decorated" Olympian

All the best to Emma in Paris.

Note: I've edited this post as Emma may not technically be "retiring" or leaving swimming post-Paris. She's only announced 2024 will be her final Olympics. Wanted to clarify that point.

2024 Australian Olympic Swimming Team Announcement

I hope @[email protected] is doing alright. He needs some time to transition from the swim grind to a more expressive and artistic path. I really wouldn't rule out the possibility he might perhaps give an Olympic run a second and final crack if he indeed looks very close to home in 2032 for trying to make it to Brisbane, once again, but for all the marbles. Until then, he can remain in fairly top form (obviously not so gruelling), then make a relatively easy switch to training again.
He could try for LA in 2028, but something's telling me he would want to take a break, right now. But, I could also be underestimating his determination to want to try again. Age is a factor, of course, but I think he could probably make it happen up until 2032. That feels like the natural concluding year for his wholly competitive pool potential period.
Of course, there are opportunities for competing @ Pan-Pacs, Commonwealth (again), & the World Championships. Many options & chances to really leave further marks in Aussie swimming if he decided to do so in the future. Important to remain mindful of how his good friend Ian "Thorpey" "Thorpedo" Thorpe had difficulties after leaving the sport & a brief comeback ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0XRXMfyyos8 ). That's why it's so good Codes has his music, writing, clothing line, & environmental concerns to return to.

When it comes to Codes music, I'm pretty sure he'll stay the course with his own Coast House label; keeping it indie and at an arm's length from the worlds such as this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LdL00ap1M5Q
I think @[email protected] has taken some steps to follow suit, which is positive and encouraging.
