Mom was discharged, after she was stabilized, post day surgery/liver biopsy. She's going to rest in bed for rest of day when we get home. No strenuous physical activity for one week.

I had to ask almost all hospital medical staff, working with us today, to please put their masks on before coming near us. My handmarked mask helped with having no pushback on my mandatory mask-up request. Everyone I asked, stared at it, before grabbing masks & putting them on.

They should all mask up in hospitals. For everyone's safety, including their own.

In our several hours at #RoyalJubileeHospital today, I saw over 50 completely incapacitated/unconscious very elderly patients - wheeled in/out of surgery rooms by people with no masks on. They had no choice to protect their own health by staff who should know better. ATM - Hospitals, & their many unmasked staff, are playing Russian Roulette, on patients who cannot speak or advocate for themselves.

@PhoenixSerenity You are right! And the fact is that when I have appointments, I and my mom are the only ones wearing masks in hospitals. When I see somenone else masked I think well, must be another vulnerable patient like me.
Glad your mom is better.

@DomandoAlLobo Mom isn't better yet but we hope to find out what's causing her multiple health issues from today's biopsy soon. She is sleeping to recover from day surgery today. I check on her every 2 hours to ensure she's OK & she can ring a home alert I gave her, if needed to call me to help, without having to exert shouting energy.
@PhoenixSerenity sorry to hear that. I thought she was better when she left the hospital. Sending hugs.
@DomandoAlLobo Thank you. We should find out results from biopsy in 2 weeks. Mom is feeling bit better today πŸ‘
I got my requested 2 weeks time off from work. Very grateful for the approval as I really need it.
@PhoenixSerenity oh, yes. It's a help. 🀞for your mom.

@DomandoAlLobo @PhoenixSerenity

Really, if there is any place you should wear a mask, it is in a hospital! Common sense is now seen as…subversive? Threatening? Maybe we are in the first stages of Zombie Apocalypse because people seem so brain dead to important things.

@PhoenixSerenity@beige. I think by now there's no amount of convincing you can do to stupid people at this point. This is legal killing.

@Scienceisnotopinions Yes - I have thought our governments are running eugenics & not managing public health care well - on purpose - for quite some time. Our governments don't think seniors, disabled, immunocompromised folks & small children have much value to them. They are more than OK with more folks dying or becoming disabled for life. They just do not care about us.

I don't care what they say in their many PR media announcements. Their actions speak louder volumes. Their actions are reckless & abusive to citizens. They keep lying about caring for citizens.

@PhoenixSerenity I know. I will have nothing to do with healthcare until this shitshow stops. They will have to pay for treatments and they must be stupid or something. I think it's because the pandemic was left in the hands of selfish and power-hungry politicians.

@Scienceisnotopinions Unfortunately, both me & Mom can't avoid going to get medical care because we both have multiple chronic illnesses. Neither of us have ever contracted covid & trying to keep that zero covid track record.

I'm terrified of upcoming dental extractions. Have to get all front teeth removed to put dentures in. It's one of the only essential places I have to go to & where I'm unprotected from other patients. Staff mask up. Most other patients don't.

@PhoenixSerenity @Scienceisnotopinions

If you can afford to, buy a portable HEPA filter for your dental appointment. Request that it be placed in the surgery room & running PRIOR TO your extractions.

@mastobit @PhoenixSerenity I'm lucky that way my dentist is as worried about covid as I am and his office has the best air filtration available.
@mastobit @Scienceisnotopinions I can't afford one πŸ˜” I'm struggling as is, financially, as disabled woman trying to support my family & keep our house.

@PhoenixSerenity @Scienceisnotopinions

Hmm. πŸ€”

Make a smaller, more portable version of the #corsirosenthalbox perhaps.

And see if they can ventilate the room by opening windows.

@mastobit @Scienceisnotopinions They said they'll open all windows & leave back door open & prop front door ajar.

I don't think I can get all supplies & build a DIY one before my extractions.

@PhoenixSerenity @mastobit That should be good.
@Scienceisnotopinions @mastobit I'm glad they're willing to take those extra steps. I have been open with how much anxiety I have about it. They also knew my Dad for over 3 decades & know he died from getting covid in hospital too.
@PhoenixSerenity I've been 4 times since the beginning of the pandemic and I hate it. But dental infections can cause health problems.
@Scienceisnotopinions Exactly. I've been to ER once with half my face swollen up & I looked like a volleyball with squinty eyes - from bad dental infection. I was given IV antibiotics & a doctor lanced area infected & drained out gross pus.
@PhoenixSerenity I worked in extended care for 20 years. It's horrible how the elderly are treated. It makes me scared shitless to get sick.
@Scienceisnotopinions I do death doula work & also hospital/home to LTC or hospice. I get it πŸ’“
