I've spent some time in the US and in Finland. Both countries are so different on extroversion / introversion.

Here in the US, I have to talk on the phone to people to get anything done; in Finland, when I wanted to do complicated things, I just had to type things to someone (I even got my dog's import health stuff sorted without ever speaking to a person).

As an ambi-vert, I like a mix of both.

Interesting fact: in China, introverts call themselves 'spiritually Finnish'

Me posting this after talking to 4 different people in a row, on the PHONE. ;/
@skinnylatte That's a lot! I'd be drained at that point.

@skinnylatte

This phone call could have been a txt.

@skinnylatte

Finland sounds like a paradise!

@lonespelunker trains are quiet and people don't really speak. ahahhah the silence is pretty nice

@skinnylatte this typing instead of talking would increase my productivity by at least double

As a typical millennial, I dread phone calls.

@skinnylatte An ambi-vert! That's what I am! Thank you for giving me the word...

A while back Finland was trying to attract Brits wanting to leave due to Brexit. I was sorely tempted, despite the complete impracticality of the idea.

@jeztastic it’s a wonderful place. High quality of life. I have been tempted many times. I just feel I would be very disconnected from the communities I want to be part of if that were to be a permanent place for me.
@skinnylatte Yes, I'm not at that stage of my life. Plus I've never managed to successfully learn another language. And long winters...
@skinnylatte I was planning on escaping to Canada, but you make Finland sound pretty good.
@skinnylatte How do you know you’re talking to a Finnish extrovert? They’re looking at your shoes instead of their own.
@skinnylatte
I like “ambi-vert”—that’s me too.

@skinnylatte I went to a course in Latvia a few years ago, and one of the fellow students was a Swede who was happy to sit alone. Some folks felt bad and tried to involve him in conversation. He was not unhappy, and just said "There's no reason to risk a stupid talk when you are enjoying a good quiet".

Sounds like wisdom to me.

@skinnylatte Yes! I have a small pension account in the USA and every time I want to do anything about it I have to ring to a toll free number and _talk_ to a Customer Service Representative. It's enough to give me a panic attack just thinking about it!
