Frank Bennett 🇯🇵@jensorensen Weird. I took a year out from Uni in California and worked in a factory near Burlington NC. I went there because I was a fan of southern rock-and-roll. It was a working class community, there was a mixed-race couple among my friends, and there was plenty of marijuana circulating among younger households. And there was the music.
I went back to visit a decade ago, and the area was all tract homes, with a Walmart nearby that had bankrupted the local supermarket.

Folks whose families have lived in America for generations and who still couldn't pass a citizenship test if their lives depended on it think it's their Ghod-given right to tell other Americans "Go back to your own country." Tempting to clear out of the South completely, except the subsequent doubled-down inbreeding would make everything there that much worse.
