The right cries "foul" whenever they don't completely get their own way (and even sometimes when they do). If there's no difference between trying to compromise with them and shutting them out of the conversation entirely, then nobody should ever humor them.
This isn't new, either. It goes back to at least Newt Gingrich and his "Contact with America" 30 years ago back in nineteen ninety-goddamn-four. Nobody with an ounce of political savvy can honestly claim that they're actually being fooled into thinking Republicans can be compromised with.
Anyone who says that they're "reaching across the aisle" or "gathering bipartisan support" with a straight face is conning you.

However this does not absolve the US center right aka "Democrats" from watching over one of the biggest wealth distributions (upward) in history, far more than pre Depression, leaving gutted middle America few options except anger and resentment
@lisamelton We've never finished the post-Civil War reconstruction. They were never properly brought back into the Union and civilization generally and have forgotten to be anything but whiny grievance-babies.
We need to destroy them utterly this time and then de-radicalize whatever's left to the point they are incapable of even wanting revenge.
It's not enough to defeat them politically, they need to be driven out of society and shunned forever.
