CTAN: Package coffeestains

@atoponce You sure the last one isn’t blood? 🦇
@elefant LaTeX requires blood, coffee, and tears.
@atoponce So just the usual sacrifice to the elder gods.
@atoponce useful to put on your homework if you have to look it up in a pile of papers (I literally did this for one course, all the assignments were spread out on a table and I could just walk up and yank ours in one second)
@syn If I were still in school, I would totally attempt this on a paper, just for shits-n-giggles.
@atoponce That documentation is soooo missing the famous quotation "A mathematician is a machine for turning coffee into theorems". 😂
(Alfréd Rényi as quoted by Paul Erdős)
@atoponce The color is a little bit off. Looks more like blood, I think. 😅 But very cool!
@Sumire LaTeX has a tendency to do that. 👀
@atoponce I'm currently working on a paper submission, this would give it the certain something (TM) to represent my current state of mind
@atoponce todd rogers
@richconnergmn I don't know this reference.
@atoponce guy who blatantly faked pretty much every retro video game achievement you could (or couldn't) think of, most famously his "world record" in dragster. his proof image supposedly had a coffee stain over the timer

@atoponce

finally. i can reproduce The Book of G’Kar in LaTeX.

@atoponce Can it also do the alien language from _Arrival_?
@atoponce eek, the last one looks a bit like a blood drop.
@atoponce Dunno how I was able to get my diploma without it 🤣
@atoponce that last one looks like blood, I don't want people thinking that bad things happen to people who give bad reviews but you know if they MUST believe that then who am I to say otherwise?
@atoponce This is probably better than sticky notes
@atoponce 'Friends: people who borrow my books and set wet glasses on them.'
- Edwin Arlington Robinson
@atoponce I wrote that many years ago. Patrick Bideault was kind enough to take over and package it up for CTAN. Pretty consistently this goes viral about once a year! Glad to see it can also go viral on mastodon.
@hannorein it's made the front page of hacker news as well.
@the_guruji Not the first time either ;-)
@hannorein @atoponce ran into it on hacker news today. It’s high quality internet. Planetary discovery? Sure, but what about coffee stains!?

@hannorein @atoponce

Fantastic! There will be many semi-serious uses at work (memos!) and in teaching (exercise sheets!).

@atoponce Sadly I don't drink coffee or tea. Would it be better with cookie fat stains?
@mctwist A crumbl cookie with a Fiiz drink. 😉
@atoponce Adrian Robson's contrib is e best part
@atoponce those are fresh blood stains on ma screen. should i check my color calibration?
@atoponce I love how it makes reading the document somewhat cosy and makes me smile just looking at it as I feel like we're having a casual conversation!
@atoponce have some dust in the text strings:

@atoponce That last one looks like blood
@atoponce looks more like blood to me.
@atoponce try reducing the saturation a little bit.
