"The Facebook comma" 🧐

#gdpr #dataprotection #privacy #dataskydd

@joho As goes the slogan of the USA's IRS
We got what it takes to take what you got.
@paul @joho Except if you actually got something.

@ahltorp

You have a fair point there 😀

@paul

@joho So glad I dropped Facebook and everything associated with it in 2020!
@otownKim Yeah, you did something really good there 🤘 I should too, definitely.
@joho Also Twit Shit as soon as Elmo Muskrat bought it
@otownKim Yeah, that one went well ... 😑
@joho So far Mastodon is a good place. I'm hoping it stays this way 😬
@otownKim I hear you 😊 I think "we" are a key component in keeping it a good place ☀️
@otownKim @joho
My favorite name for it is Xitter. The 'X' is pronounced "sh".

@billherndon

Yeah, unfortunately, that would be a fitting name for quite a few Social Media platforms 😑

@otownKim

@joho

I love all those
“Your privacy is import”
“Click here so we can share your data with out 163 partners”
Cookie statements.

@merien Yeah, they're really up there together with stepping on LEGO:s in the middle of the night or getting a kick in the nuts 😑

@joho they truly make me laugh, unlike lego, because of the ridiculousness.

Anyhow, private browising, separate cookie containers and often cookie deletion helps.

@merien Yeah, there are, of course, counter measures, but it's a pain that we should even have to use them. Privacy Badger is a nice add-on too, and #Firefox is pretty nice with its "auto" containers.
@joho We take your privacy seriously. All your information is safe with us. We promise to never share it, except with 1 or 2 thousand of our closest friends.

@zazzoo Yeah, that 😑

(Who will in turn share it with 1-2k of their friends, and so on...)
