After just over 3 years (with some lengthy pauses in work) the Raider conversion is complete.
Built for my personal army/collection. I wanted to create an attack helicopter type vehicle which I hope you can see the influences on the design.
There are a lot of changes and additions and many photos (52) to show.
If you are good boys, girls, NBs, and others, I'll post some more later.

You have been good, so here's some more photos of the Raider gunship conversion.
Here you can see the 'nid gunner and the burst cannon turret (this fitted surprisingly well).
Underneath from the front you can see the added camera/targeting blob, and how I filled in the gap between the new chassis and the old nose pieces.
I also added many things to the main deck of the Raider; partly to replace the sail power source.

The final crew member is a former Space Wolf.
One arm has been replaced with a biomechanical linkage so that he can feel and control all aspects of the craft (and the gunner 'nid).

Some closer views of the front end of the Raider Gunship conversion.
The burst-cannon turret retains Tau markings on the gun, but Dark Eldar markings on the turret. This shows that they are not meant to be together, but have been made to work.
The added skull detail on the front is there because it fitted on nicely.
The megaphone addition is for instilling dread in their enemies. Perhaps playing "Ride of the Valkyries" or something.

The order of painting for this was:
1. Bone interior.
2. Yellow/orange blends.
2.5. All that was masked off.
3. Red through the airbrush.
4. Blue underside.
5. The rest...
Some more of the Raider Gunship conversion today.
There's 2 ways to mix model parts together; one is to perfectly merge them so nobody would notice.
The other is to embrace the differences in the parts and play with the joins and make it look "built" in-universe.
Both can work.
With obvious brackets, rivets, and snaking cables, you can tell which way I went with this model.
