#KnowNothing #CardiB is too stupid to realize that NOT voting for #Biden is a vote FOR #Trump, and that her boycott of #Election2024 could be her last — She might not get another opportunity to vote EVER.

Cardi B Doubles Down On Pledge Not To Vote For Biden or Trump This November

The rapper admitted to feeling “layers and layers of disappointment” at President Joe Biden, who she stumped for in 2020.

It's not a message that pleases me, since I personally have very little doubt as to where said meme in fact originates. Which is not, as one may naively believe, to Joe Biden's left.
@rameshgupta @SteveThompson
@Eetschrijver It doesn’t originate there but it gets heavily pushed by the very very very #farL who aren’t going to vote regardless but are happy to dampen the vote.

Very good cartoon. Idealism versus pragmatic reality. This 👇= best brief essay/OpEd I've seen stating the same thing, perhaps with a bit more substance to back up the message:

"Abandoning Biden could repeat the 1968 mistakes that helped elect Nixon" (me: only this would be much worse*) https://www.dailykos.com/stories/2024/5/12/2239229/-Abandoning-Biden-could-repeat-the-1968-mistakes-that-helped-elect-Nixon
* Plus, Biden's done a lot of good!

Abandoning Biden could repeat the 1968 mistakes that helped elect Nixon

It was déjà vuall over again for me on April 30 , when the NYPD removed pro-Palestinian protesters sitting in atColumbia University’s Hamilton Hall. That brought back memories of April 30, ...

Short, and to the point.

“Only years later did I realize that I was mistaken, and we missed an opportunity to have a president who might actually have made America great by championing racial justice, labor rights, and the war against poverty.

I hope that today’s campus #protesters don’t repeat our mistakes by abandoning #Biden, who already has a proven record of accomplishments in his first term”

Dear Campus Protestors, I’m with you. I know how you feel. I was one of the anti-war protestors in ‘68 whose ballot choices in my very first election were either Nixon or Humphrey. I was anti-war, had been at the pre-convention protest in Chicago in April after MLK assassination & chased by cops into the streets surrounding Picasso statue. Nixon kept the war going with his ‘secret plan’. Vote Blue & Push Left!

@Eetschrijver @rameshgupta @RunRichRun @GottaLaff @SteveThompson @joeinwynnewood

I know and that’s why I posted. I’ve watched politics for a long time & want the young to know that sometimes idealism produces exactly the opposite. Biden is wrong on Israel but right on so much else. It’s out job to push him on his error!

@rameshgupta @RunRichRun @GottaLaff @Eetschrijver @SteveThompson @joeinwynnewood this piece is SO spot on, and a great lesson on why the perfect is the enemy of the good. The RFK anecdote about him being assassinated for his support of Israel during the 6 day war is especially poignant.
@rameshgupta @RunRichRun @GottaLaff @Eetschrijver @SteveThompson @joeinwynnewood one significant difference is that people had little evidence of what Humphrey in executive office would be like

@ssfckdt @rameshgupta @RunRichRun @GottaLaff @Eetschrijver @SteveThompson

They had just as much evidence as any prominent US Senator who ran for President (with relatively rare exceptions of those who served in other roles like RFK as AG).
