My God, this is the best poem I've read in months. "When My Daughter Tells Me I was Never Punk," by Jessica Walsh.
@stevesilberman I think I've been following you from the early days of Twitter (rest its soul), just another overly online niche nerd that has found solace and community and connection a few hundred characters at a time with people all over the world, people whose experiences are much like my own and some much different. All of whom have stories and joys and sorrows and have shared and cried and bristled and hugged over thousands of miles, millivolts at a time. Thanks for posting this, thanks for being you, and being in public, and being one of hundreds of unique and appreciated players on this electronic stage I find myself sharing. A jam band, an improv set, or just Statler and Waldorf laughing at the world and themselves as it all goes to hell. Same as it ever was.
@stevesilberman You have a right not to be killed - Joe Strummer.
@wendynather I feel like you might appreciate this...
@llorenzin Oh yes. Thank you for sharing it πŸ’š
@stevesilberman Months? Years I'd say. I have to go look Jessica up.
