I’m doing computers… wrong
@ActionRetro Put an AMD video card in there and KVM back into MacOS.
@ActionRetro (To be clear, on top of the card already in there. Just go hog wild, my man)
@ActionRetro this is what computers were made for — tinkering.

@ActionRetro

Situation normal, Shannagens Underway? 🥴🤷‍♂️

@ActionRetro you've not computed until you've added thunderbolt 3 to a 2008 Xserve and used a Vega 64 in an eGPU for a display output
@ActionRetro Oh no…oh no no no…that’s just not right.
@ActionRetro There's no wrong way of doing computers, and I think there isn't a correct way either

@tech10 @ActionRetro there is one wrong way of Doing Computers and that is by Not Doing Computers.
It’s a perfectly correct way to do anything but computers, mind…

(This message brought to you by Contrarians Without Coffee)

@ActionRetro You always do, and that's why we like you
@ActionRetro There is no right way to do computers, this is beautiful
@ActionRetro
i'm sure Canonical endorses this video haha
@ActionRetro the hell are you doing? 🤣
@ActionRetro On the contrary; anything with an LGA1366 is correct to me!
@ActionRetro Steve Jobs must be spinning in his grave so fast right now that he could probably power the whole of Cupertino by himself
@ActionRetro That looks about right. The towers did not have enough power for most GPU’s in the market. Carry on with the hot rodding!
@ActionRetro doing computers "right" is work. I'm definitely not here for _that_.
@ActionRetro I run Ubuntu on a Macbook Pro. I bought the laptop in 2014 and it's been out of support for several years. Works great with Ubuntu, though. Linux is a great option for Intel Macs that are planned obsolete.
@ActionRetro Aaaand I just saw you have a video about this exact same thing on your Youtube channel.
@ActionRetro which bit’s the wrong bit? It all seems perfectly cromulent to me.
@ActionRetro lucky… I’m stuck with a 1,1. The only time I saw a 4,1/5,1 was when my goodwill had a couple of them for almost 500 bucks a piece.
