There are a lot of people asking questions about what OpenAI's business model is going to be, now that GPT-4o is "free."
I don't see a lot of evidence that their business model treats the chatbot as the main profit center, as much as it focuses on B2B transactions, and I imagine those will continue to increase exponentially.
I guess I just find it weird that so many people have glommed on to this particular point...
On the other hand, some have noted that OpenAI taking a major loss now to push a very capable assistant into people's hands for free, probably means that they recognize their competitors getting closer with some applications, and they're willing to take a big loss now to get people addicted to their technology before they adopt other solutions.
The first solution usually wins even when it's objectively not the best.
