I've never posted an image like this before, the colours are mental! My husband lit the Longstone with a torch as the sky erupted in pinks and greens. This is in the darkest part of the Island which is campaigning for Dark Skies Status, so there was no light pollution.
The colours were visible to the naked eye.

@sharongascoigne Great shot.I live in the sub-Arctic in the land of the Aurora. It's rare sight to see all the colours of the Northern Lights at once. Just wondering if they put on a dance for you? When they swirl and dip and dive they are mesmerizing.

What a privilege to see them regularly. I think it might be a once in a lifetime event here in the far south of the UK.
