Q3: The Protostar crew meets the Enderprizians. What were some of your favorite references to Star Trek fandom from this episode? @petertrek1 #StarTrekHour

@StarTrekHour @petertrek1

I wasn't moved by this episode. I found it one of the weakest and least enjoyable of the show, with a kinda anti-fanservice reveal. Sorry.

I'd actually go further. This one episode shows all the weaknesses in PRO. It is like a #StarTrek show written by AI. Someone fed Star Trek but For Kids into a chatgp clone, and PRO was what it spat out. All the bits are there, but the way they are arranged are, to quote #EricMorecambe, "playing all the right notes, but not necessarily in the right order". Contrast with LD, and you can see the love and care in it. Not here though.

@CrypticMirror @StarTrekHour @petertrek1 as someone with kids and thus has watched a bit of recent kids TV, if more of it had as interesting hooks as this episode of Prodigy it would be better for it. Saying it seems formulaic to the point of artificial is selling it short I'm sure @GoodAaron and the writers had studio mandates to introduce star trek elements in their show in order to seed new fans and IMHO they've done that well while remaining compelling to tweens. It hooked my 9yo daughter.

They slapped some #StarTrek aesthetics on a generic kids cartoon. If anything, it seems closer to being a #StarWars type of show than Trek. Give Dal a lightsaber, and make holoJaneway a holocron, and that'd work far better.

It isn't very good Star Trek, but it'd make a fairly average Star Wars show.
