Today, a proper look at the 1993-2000 Fiat Coupé without yesterday’s distracting colour scheme. The Coupé was designed under the leadership of Chris Bangle, who later became better known for his work at BMW in the 1990s and 2000s. Various engines were available, including a turbocharged five-cylinder that was good for 220 PS. Pictures are from the 2023 NEC Classic Car Show.

Looks like the wall it reversed into was already slumping forward. 👀

@lionelb @davidwilkins guess #ChrisBangle has more than a few sins at BMW to atone for… 😂

(This actually bothers me more than the BMW sins, which others have complained about, but they never bothered me particularly.)

@davidwilkins I know it’s unfair, and as a member of the Guild of Motoring Writers I really do know better, but it just screams “Fix It Again Toni” to me. Sorry 😀
@davidwilkins It looks like a kit car to me.
@davidwilkins My experience with that car was that at 187cm height, I could either reach the steering wheel or not hit my head on the roof... Not a car for tall drivers (or for towing a trailer, which was the reason I drove it).

@davidwilkins

So. How yellow would you like it?

-Yes.

@davidwilkins Fiat can thank Gran Turismo 3's B license for this cars notoriety state side
@davidwilkins a chap I know still has his 20vT, it's surprisingly quick in straight line!
@davidwilkins I like the idea of the lock to the side of the trunk/boot, but it looks like opening it required a key every time, unless there’s an inside release, but it’s best when those are lockable. Don’t ask me how I know… (thank you distant memory from Arles 🇫🇷).
