Some of them did, yep - now the rest of us have to live with the poor decisions of our neighbours. Still, there are many thoughtful, kind-hearted people, even in rural Alberta, who will stand up for justice & democracy.

The thing that gets me is that this particular change isn't "conservative" at all - the former legislation was working just fine & had been for decades - they "solved" a non-problem that literally no one was talking about! I hope it wakes people up.

Yeah I agree - it's really just authoritarian, & yes modern conservatism has become authoritarian... But I have a hard time believing all conservative voters in Alberta support authoritarianism. I feel the ground shifting here in rural Alberta - but I've been wrong before, lol.

This is a path started by Kenney, but accelerated under Smith. When the shit hits the fan and people start to push back, we’ll begin to see the rationale for Alberta Police force legislation that they ‘wouldn’t ever actually use’.
