The bill would give the province the right to fire councillors, overturn bylaws, postpone elections and allow political parties to run on municipal ballots in Edmonton and Calgary.

@TheGentYYC not really, afaik. Municipalities are entirely considered in the domain of the provinces, and technically don't even really need to exist at all. In so far as they do, they are considered nothing more than a limited delegation of provincial power.

Honestly that's rapidly becoming one of the biggest failings of the 1982 Constitution.
