My problem with my #HamRadio hobby is that I spend a lot more time making things to communicate over the airwaves, than actually communicating over the airwaves...
And so I don't do Morse code, because I'm too busy making things. #cw
This is a power supply for my QMX, which includes an audio amplifier and speaker.
@F4EGX_Nico This is not unusual at all! Hams are more interested in making the radio waves do things than they are in talking to other hams. We tend to be cloistered, introverted nerds whose idea of hell is unscripted live conversations with people. If hams can do radio without talking to anyone, they will. This is why FT8 is so wildly popular!
@F4EGX_Nico And where is the problem? Until you do want to communicate more over the air, then all is good. The great thing about #hamradio is, that there is something for a lot interests and there is no right and wrong.
@hb9hox @F4EGX_Nico I agree! And I also spend more time making things than using things. It is not a bug it is a feature™️
@SA6JKK @hb9hox @F4EGX_Nico I think I'm about to hit break even of qso time/construction time with my small amplifier :)
@F4EGX_Nico And it's perfectly fine. I had 0 QSOs in January and February, and 2 in March (of which both were FT8).
@F4EGX_Nico there is nothing wrong with that. There are plenty of appliance operators out there to balance for the ones building stuff !
