The Rail Life

One year ago today I visited the Roslagsbanan. This is a narrow gauge (891mm) suburban railway in Stockholm's northern suburbs. Services run out of Stockholms östra (Stockholm East station) on three branch lines, which are electrified at 1500v.

The current rolling stock was manufactured by ABB in the late 1980s and runs in a 3 car configuration, with the centre car being accessible with a low floor and wider doors.

@acb It's quite odd, the gauge translates to exactly 3 Swedish feet, which in imperial measure is 2 ft 11+3⁄32  in.

TIL, the Swedish foot (fot) was 0.974 of an imperial foot.
