Joywave is a band that frequently injects musical gestures of indie rock into their lively, buoyant pop that makes extensive use of synths. They lean quite a bit and rather unambiguously into dance oriented grooves without crossing over into synth pop or electronic dance territory. The band is led by guitarist-singer Daniel Armbruster, who delivers melodically satisfying tunes bathed in wit and driven by his obvious concern for the state of the world.
