Apparently, my school has raised an issue regarding my attendance at school (which I have tried to keep up as much as my mental health allows it), which will require me to prove using a medical certificate that I had some medical reason to not attend school those days.

Not having a Therapist which could give me such a medical certificate, they will probably fine me up to 1000€ (from what my limited research seems to suggest).

If I am lucky, I can get them to agree on a medical certificate from a normal doctor for the past ~2 weeks, but usually the fine is capped at ~1000€ and is increased with each day that you couldn't attend (which are a lot)

As such, as much as I hate to ask for this, I'd like to ask you to chip in support as neither I or my immediate family would be able to cover the costs.

This is urgent, because I do not know how much time is between now, and when they demand a fine.
Me having to pay a fine is pretty much guaranteed as I don't have medical certificates to back me up.

I couldn't go to school due to my declining mental health and the school - as the party that has to enforce Schulpflicht - stepped in to demand I prove that I have good reason not to come using a doctors/medical certificate. If I cannot prove it using a medical certificate, there is a fine between 80-150€ per day (for the state I'm in) that I did not / could not attend school. The cap is at 1000€. I've only done very limited research into what is about to come my way, and I'm willing to correct the goal if I've misread anything. @cyrus @mutualaid the hemck? Umm....? Since when was that how german schools do stuff? And even so a doctor's note is a doctor's note. Never had anyone demand it's one from a specialist.. I am confusion about how u got inti that sorta situation

The school *can* fine you, but *does not have to*. And if they choose to, it doesn't mean it is a final decision.
The fines are *only* for people deliberately choosing to not attend school repeatedly - the reaction of the school to neither report you nor immediately issue fines are completely normal.
The school is primarily interested in getting you back to school (and hopefully they care about you a bit), and not issuing fines.

Additionally, (un)fortunately you are likely not the first one with such issues at your school.
Did you *speak* with a human (administration, teacher, ...) from your school about this, or was all communication text only? And about how many missed days are we talking in total?

@varbin I did speak with someone, I did not speak about my mental status (at least not directly) as I did not feel comfortable doing so (neither in text or in-person)

as per days, it's probably a total of ~4-5 months of not attending consistently, usually only going for 1-2 hours at best, for 2-3 days of the school week at best, so probably a total of at the minimum a week worths of days, probably more.
