#obsidian how do you weigh up whether a community plugin seems safe to you or not? My focus is on the privacy of my notes, but some plugins are just super helpful. At the moment I'm thinking about using #mapview but it is used by quite few people and I can't find anything about the creator except on github. Any tips or experiences?
@mattwilcox I think I saw you as a contributer. Can you share your personal evalutation of the plugin?

@phi_ there's basically two ACTUALLY effective strategies here:
1) Audit the code
2) Audit the system which runs the code

Option one has obvious hurdles. Option two is much more approachable. Every modern operating system comes with tools to monitor, isolate, and control network activity, usually on a per application basis. The only real way to be sure is to whitelist known good connections in the face of an otherwise universal blacklist
