Report today that #Israel's military (#IDF) just murdered 5 [edit: SEVEN] #WorldCentralKitchen volunteers who were providing nourishing meals in #Palestine.

"Andres said that he is "heartbroken & grieving" for the workers & driver who Israel killed: "The Israeli government needs to stop this indiscriminate killing. It needs to stop restricting humanitarian aid, stop killing civilians & aid workers, and stop using food as a weapon," he said.

WTF are "deconfliction mechanisms to avoid targeting aid convoys"? Is that kinda like "having a policy not to attack aid workers"?/s/

"U.S., the UN & many aid organizations have been urging Israel's government for months to do more to improve its deconfliction mechanisms to avoid targeting aid convoys.

The Biden administration raised this issue on a very high level with the Israeli government several times, but there was little change on the ground, U.S. officials say"

"Unforgivable": José Andrés' NGO says 7 aid workers killed in Gaza strike

"It happens during war and we are thoroughly investigating this," Netanyahu said.

Axios

"A military word used since the 1970s to mean preventing “friendly fire” between allied armies[, d]econfliction is now being applied to attempts to stop aid clinics, hospitals, & schools from being bombed by warring parties."

"At best, both NGOs & armies share the same deconfliction objective: to protect civilians & patients. At worst,…armies use it to limit bad publicity & accusations of war crimes."

Ah yes. Now I see. Used by US to "limit bad publicity."

What is humanitarian deconfliction? - The New Humanitarian - Medium

A military word used since the 1970s to mean preventing “friendly fire” between allied armies has crept into the humanitarian lexicon. Deconfliction is now being applied to attempts to stop aid…

Medium

The whole idea of deconfliction originated among people who share the same interests (law enforcement, allied armed forces).

It completely breaks down when the warring party is the one that is intentionally & methodically targeting every institution of civil society, like schools, hospitals, universities, news org HQs, doctors' & journalists' families & homes, etc.

We've seen multiple instances already where the civil org shared coordinates, & Israel used that info to bomb them.

This looks like a direct hit, if this video is verified 👇🏼 WCK said they had coordinated their movements with the Israeli military.

IDF "executed tens of people point blank, including one of our colleagues, Dr. Ahmed al-Maqadmeh…& his mother, who's also a physician…to say that this is a strategic targeting of Hamas, is an insult to our intellect & our humanity."

"This is a direct targeting of health care workers…when they leave the hospital, civilians give them civilian clothing, b/c wearing scrubs is sticking a target…on their back. That is how systematically health care has been targeted" #alShifa

OMG! Dr. @Tanyaalih says Israel executed doctors in Al-Shifa hospital and that the targeting of healthcare workers is so systematic that when they leave the hospitals, they put on civilian clothes because they are more likely to be assassinated by Israel if they wear scrubs.

It was not a "mistake."

If you believe this line from Netanyahu, please be responsible for educating yourself about the actual capabilities of Israeli security agencies.

"The Prime Minister of Israel [Netanyahu] doesn't like this movie…The extreme right, & the right religious orthodox do not like the film one bit" [but] "the Gatekeepers stood firmly behind" it.

Aimed to "put a mirror in front of the Israeli audience…that comes from the center of the defense establishment":

"This is the path that we have been through…where we would go at the end of that, if we continue."The former Shin Bet heads were warning of this present.

The Gatekeepers: A Film and Discussion (Full Session)

YouTube

"Now, as a human being, if you are confronted with a mirror…& you don't like [what you see], you have two options: either you say "i will change the mirror, i will bring a new mirror, which will tell me something that i like… I don't address those people.

But if you are true as a human being, & what you see in the mirror is something [you reject], it forces you to take action… I wanted to show the Israeli public[: t]his is the path that we have been through, & this is where we…will continue"

This was retribution:
"The strike is not the first incident in which #WCK staff were wounded in #Gaza. On Saturday, an IDF sniper fired at a car headed to a food warehouse in the Khan Yunis area…

The #WCK immediately filed a complaint with the IDF after the incident, & demanded the army stop the fire toward its staff, & guarantee their safety when distributing food in the Gaza Strip, which is carried out with full coordination"

(From the Haaretz piece I shared before: https://archive.is/pqWZ8)

This was so obviously a response from #IDF to World Central Kitchen humanitarian agency filing a complaint about the IDF shooting at their aid workers on Saturday.

This is the IDF immediately turning around & assassinating 7 of their volunteers - saying "shut up, don't complain, or we'll kill all of you"

Look at their deeds, not words.

As we've seen today from Netanyahu & Biden, & spokesmen like Kirby & Miller - lies come cheap. Deeds, not words.

@chargrille Atrocious inhumane actions speak mega volumes over PR political words.
@chargrille you can tell that worm miller can’t wait to get his 7-figure PR job at some tech giant once his stint in the administration is done. Ghouls
@chargrille I don't know if this comes from a way of thinking and its application in real world (organization, training, action): the hunt of nazis in the world
It's like from "we hunt and process nazis that killed our people" became "we hunt and kill everyone that goes against our nation", from an anti racist and justice organization to a racist and mafia style one

@chargrille

"Mirror

My friends, sometimes the most difficult thing about fighting evil is realizing that it actually exists, and then unambiguously and forcefully calling it what it is.

History shows time and time again that one of evils greatest strengths is its ability to disguise itself as good, or at least a temporary necessity, until that last fatal moment when its revelation becomes clear, indisputable, and inescapable.

So today let us take a clear and unadulterated look into the mirror at ourselves.

Just six years ago we were one of the most respected and admired defenders of democracy and human rights in history. Respected not only by our friends, but even begrudgingly by most of our enemies. In fact, even the fantastic power of our military paled in comparison to the overwhelming might of our moral authority.

Today we are a nation that operates secret prisons occupied by anonymous inmates, illegally abducted and held indefinitely without charge or representation. We are guilty of torture. We are guilty of murder. We are guilty of preemptive war of conquest. We are guilty of the wholesale surveillance of our population, suppressing all hope of privacy and free dissent. And we are guilty of disgracing our nation through the abandonment of even our most basic precepts of morality.

If this is not evil then nothing we have ever fought against is evil, and nothing we have ever fought for is good."

@chargrille I wonder if any Western powers are going to withhold arms sales to those responsible for the alleged breech of the Geneva conventions, and invite the ICJ to issue arrest warrants for the perpetrators and their commanders...
@epistatacadam @chargrille it's probably too little and definitely too late, but Canada is stopping arms sales.
@chargrille these aren’t indiscriminate killings - they’re being targeted. Israel clearly trying to destroy any food distribution infrastructure
@chargrille Netanyahu. Say his name every time. A country isn't responsible for this, a blood thirsty man with seemingly unlimited support from our administration is committing genocide.
