Chilli update! The peppers that are going to provide us with the main ingredients for our #HotSauce2024 got repotted for the first time yesterday and will now hopefully start to really shoot upwards.

We still need some more coasters, they should arrive soon... in the meantime, we improvised ^^

How about another chilli update?

They are growing nicely, and soon they'll get moved outside into their final pots 😊 Maybe next weekend... I'll monitor the weather a bit more, it was way too cold until only a few days ago.

#ProjectHotsauce2024

Oof! 😅 27 chillies repotted into cocos coir with mixed in perlite and stockosorb (water saving crystals, first time trying this stuff to help a bit with keeping them hydrated during the cooking summer heat), with clay granulat at the bottom. Now they are all in their final pots and place 👍

One of the Lemon Drops even already has a flower showing 😄

Now I hope they continue to grow and then give us a good harvest in fall for our #ProjectHotsauce2024

This year a Lemon Drop won the race for the first fruit for #ProjectHotsauce2024 ^^

TBH, if that weather continues, I'm afraid the chillies will drown...

Two already gave up from what I fear was the repeated deluge the past few weeks, and I just can hope that the other 25 plants will make it or #ProjectHotsauce2024 will have to be made from bought peppers, and that would be a bit sad.

@foosel I'm so incredibly jealous. None of mine are anywhere near that size, and I feel like 80% of things I've tried to repot this year have died 😔
@foosel Are those aji lemon drops i see ?
@foosel Last week i drove on that street and i thought climb up to that balkony and steal the chilis. But then i remembered that they are indoors 🫤
Because the Mate seeds are to hard to let germinate i am currently try to germinate some seed of that toothed plant. After 20 days still no luck.
@foosel Are you keeping them indoors?
@SimonHain Not forever. In a few weeks when they have grown up a bit more and it's warm outside they'll go on the south facing balcony after their second and final repotting.
@foosel I put mine into their final pots as I have a large window front.
