The air in the kitchen is now lava.

#ProjectHotsauce2024 is on its final stretch after five weeks of fermentation 🥳 We just finalised the sauce and filled up the flasks, now they just need to get labelled and then we are done ^^

Sadly we had to buy a lot of chillies this time as the harvest wasn't that great this year, but it doesn't look like that is going to negatively influence the end result 👍

TBH, if that weather continues, I'm afraid the chillies will drown...

Two already gave up from what I fear was the repeated deluge the past few weeks, and I just can hope that the other 25 plants will make it or #ProjectHotsauce2024 will have to be made from bought peppers, and that would be a bit sad.

This year a Lemon Drop won the race for the first fruit for #ProjectHotsauce2024 ^^

Oof! 😅 27 chillies repotted into cocos coir with mixed in perlite and stockosorb (water saving crystals, first time trying this stuff to help a bit with keeping them hydrated during the cooking summer heat), with clay granulat at the bottom. Now they are all in their final pots and place 👍

One of the Lemon Drops even already has a flower showing 😄

Now I hope they continue to grow and then give us a good harvest in fall for our #ProjectHotsauce2024

How about another chilli update?

They are growing nicely, and soon they'll get moved outside into their final pots 😊 Maybe next weekend... I'll monitor the weather a bit more, it was way too cold until only a few days ago.
