If I ever win the lottery, I'm never buying another foreign made product again. - Lemmy.World

In my financial situation that is about what it would take, too.

Hey, if some other country pays your income, then just ignore me. Try to find a job abroad with a company that isn’t affiliated with America.
What in the fuck is this supposed to mean?
I had a Toyota for years, and I thought it was great. It really wasn’t a bad car. It was the cheapest car on the market in 2008. I just bought a Ford that is 19 years old (3 years older than the Toyota I previously had). The Ford is more high tech and impressive than that Toyota. Thats all I’m saying.
What?
American made products are better. They just are. I’m sorry if people disagree with me, but I have bought items that were foreign made because I wanted to save money in the past. There’s a noticeable difference with a lot of items.
There’s a phrase “you get what you pay for”. You’re comparing buying stuff because it was cheap to buying stuff that is more expensive but you’re saying the reason it’s better is because it’s made in america. Perhaps it’s just a higher quality product and priced accordingly, and it has nothing to do with its country of origin.
Roughly 60% of Toyota’s sold in the US are made in the US.
I used to have a Toyota. I understand what you’re saying. The quality of the used Ford I just bought is so much better than that Toyota, though. My particular Ford was actually made in America. I checked. I had a Honda motorcycle for a while, too. It wasn’t bad, either, but it would shut itself off when idling, and it wasn’t a problem with the idle screw.
How much were both of these cars MSRP brand new?
Do you even play the lottery?
I usually don’t, but I bought a Powerball ticket tonight. It’s all the cursed numbers from Lost, but the mega is different.
Lottery will for ever be know as idiot tax
Yeah, I don’t usually buy a ticket, but the jackpot is at 1 billion and I had the worst Easter yesterday. There has to come a point where some higher power stops sh_tting on my life, you know?
The time when that happens is the moment that you realize that you are that higher power.
When death threats caused the loss of my last job assignment, I have wonder where the higher power is on that one. It feels like the gangs are in power some days.
And why are you getting death threats, I know there are unhinged people out there
No such thing as a free ride, lottery is a shitty company that promotes and cements gambling into our society.
Why does it matter where it’s made?

The chances are so low it’s just insane that it’s legal.

Imagine standing in front of 10 doors and opening 1 with a few million dollars. Heck, you’d be suprised that 1:10 is already hard. Now imagine 1:100 Now imagine 1:1000 Now imagine 1:10000

Now imagine the odds of lottery lol.

Good luck though.

I know, a whole $2.00 based on chance. I could have bought a loaf of bread and a small rod peanut butter to last me a week if I shopped at Dollar Tree for groceries like I have in the past. Now, spend years creating for plots to analyze the frequency of the possible outcomes, and you might not think it’s so crazy.

My mother did that for decades, spent the tiny amount we had to spare on lottery tickets. If she had kept it, we‘d have had a lot more than from the tiny payout that happened.

But its not even circumstantial evidence. I guess I‘m just saying investing it makes more sence imo.

American made baseball gloves will burn just as quickly as the foreign made ones if you put them in the air fryer at 350°.
