@DharmaDog It sounds like these cases are extreme. There were few, and only after some seriously intense meditation. It's pretty critical not to steer people off of the practice entirely, because when fully self-directed, and postively supported, it's almost always good.
@janisf As a teacher, I can tell you that most of us are trained for it. It's more common and happens more frequently than you probably realize. Some of these mindfulness/wellness folks are wholly unethical and incompetent.

I've just had a helluva time getting my sister to sit with herself for even 30 seconds. She'd bite any excuse to run like a caffeinated squirrel from mindfulness. This article, on the face of it, would serve perfectly.

there's a balance--and I'm glad we two, at least, are in that space.
