@AlvoDa disappointed man walking with head down.

@selzero my head canon is, that the species actually doesn't speak in memes, but the ones we met in the episode are just absolute meme lords.

(Although LD does disprove this a bit)

@toychicken

For a minute I was imagining the guy from TFI Friday in tight blue spandex and now you have to contribute to my psychologist fees.

@selzero I had this thought a few years ago, and I still think about it from time to time. I think I might have made a post about it, but I don't remember.

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who saw this connection.

@selzero A common interpretation, but the truth is that memes aren't used for communication. They're a recognition code, meant to exclude all but the cognoscenti.

The Tamarian language stuck in my craw. It could never work. You need a language to create the stories to create the metaphors to create the language.

@selzero The Rock driving, spoken to by girl, turning shocked
@selzero
Captain Dathon to his first officer later (translated into English): "Man, those guys are so unhip. They never even heard of Darmok or Jalad!"
