GlyphIt seems silly but mastodon’s retreat from the language of “toots” and now even “boosts” ( they’re “reblogs” in the official app now ) is exactly the same dumb-as-rocks discarding of a recognizable brand that Xitter is doing

"boost" is a reasonable description if someone is just increasing exposure of a post as is. If you want a word that also covers cases where you add context, maybe it isn't so appropriate.
Still, "reblog" sounds weird if nothing else in the UI is called a "blog".
