@BrianJopek If Christian was replaced by simply, religious group, it is more factual.

@BrianJopek The kingdom of God is always described as when people treat each other with kindness, go out of their way to help others, to give the benefit of the doubt, and care for those less privileged than them. (American) Christianity is a bastardization of these morals, as they want the government to be their vehicle of hate, saying they themselves will do the good the book demands they do. Yet we still have the homeless, and any help by govt is decried by those who should support it fully.

I would rather people just not be a part of a group that promotes belief without evidence, since such ways of thinking is usually what leads to authoritarian religious movements like this.

@BrianJopek I just go one further and say beware of any Christian movement. Somehow the idea of a sect that cherry picks the kind parts is not terribly reassuring. Too easy to suddenly embrace the nasty parts. Humanism results in the mercy, generosity and compassion without the hocus pocus.
