@lolgop I cringed a bit when I saw "most pro-union president in American history" but only because it reminded me of Trump-style hyperbole.
But that's a trivial point. Joe should keep on calling out labor successes when they happen.
@mbrailer @lolgop
For real. Once we start seeing FDR numbers, then I'll buy it. Union membership went from 9.5% in his first term up to a peak of 33.4% when he died in 1945.
Oh, but what about WW2? Okay, well even by 1939, union membership was up to 24.8%, about 10 points higher than it is today.
Since 2020, union numbers went from 14.25% to 14.42%.
Public statements aside, the numbers simply don't bear out that this administration has been all that impactful in getting people to join unions.
Look, Joe Biden is miles better than the other guy (just about anyone who can fog a mirror is) and that's enough to get me to vote for him. But people are acting like he's one of the greatest presidents of all time, when he's really just more in the middle somewhere.

As union membership has fallen over the last few decades, the share of income going to the top 10 percent has steadily increased. Union membership fell to 11.1 percent in 2014, where it remained in 2015.
Oh, oh, I know the answer!
This happened just as the replacement controllers were starting to come in...
One of the funnier things I heard was as we were on departure, out of ATL, and a controller-in-training got flustered and said, "Everyone on frequency, maintain radio silence!" Well, you can guess what happened. After about 30 seconds of the trainee panicking because no-one would answer, the old, crusty fried voice of the instructor came on and said, "Okay, boys, you've had your fun. Now, start answering up!"
@lolgop are you quite literally high? Did you just forget the shit he did to railroad workers? Unforced error. He did NOT have to weigh in, but he did, and he did it against railroad workers.
Stop rimming Scab Joe. It is unbecoming.
"I congratulate the #Volkswagen autoworkers in #Chattanooga who filed for a #union election with the UAW. As one of the world’s largest automakers, many Volkswagen plants internationally are unionized. As the most pro-union president in American history, I believe American workers, too, should have a voice at work. The decision whether to join a union belongs to the workers."
