One of the funnier things I heard was as we were on departure, out of ATL, and a controller-in-training got flustered and said, "Everyone on frequency, maintain radio silence!" Well, you can guess what happened. After about 30 seconds of the trainee panicking because no-one would answer, the old, crusty fried voice of the instructor came on and said, "Okay, boys, you've had your fun. Now, start answering up!"
