@njsg It's probably the only possible way to end that so-called word that does not sound utterly ridiculous..
Letter L is pronounced /æl/ and "sä" is pronounced /ˈsæ/, both containing the phonetic /æ/ which is the letter Ä/ä. Maybe has something to do with it, or maybe not. I'm no professional
