You don’t become cooler with age, but you do care progressively less about being cool, which is the only true way of being cool. This is called the Geezer’s Paradox
@juglugs So happy to see that someone else is a student of Ebeneezer Geezer's philosophy work.
@juglugs @lydialurch Until you become a geezer, known as the Geezer's Geezer Paradox.

@juglugs

It's one of the good things about getting older is that you no longer give a shit what people think of you.

Still masking and wearing crocs. And I don't care what anyone thinks. 😉

@juglugs It's true that not caring about being cool is a necessary condition for being cool. However that's not all there is to it. Your true character which is revealed this way also has to be cool to someone.
@juglugs so true. I go to the grocery store dressed in a way I would never have 10 years ago. And I consider it a win when I make it home without killing anyone.
@juglugs that's as cool as Gangster's Paradise!
@juglugs eventually you become as cool as Geezer Butler, which is actually why he was called that.
@juglugs I’m increasingly too tired to care about being cool, how can I not be when I’m yawning already at 10 am after a workout.
@juglugs Cool is foremost not caring about being cool no matter what age.
@juglugs
Should it not be The Fonz Paradox or better yet The Beeblebrox Paradox, which has the added bonus of a silly rhyme?

@juglugs interesting, yeah age sort of says, im there so screw "keeping up w/ the Joneses!" and trying to be cool is so OBVIOUS trying to being cool!

this is so true! 💯💯💯💯😁👍

@juglugs I think there should be an addendum to that, where FOMO turns into the JOMO (joy of missing out), when you realise that it's cheaper and probably more fun to just have an early night.
@juglugs @bigzaphod True, but this ends as soon as you say something bad about “kids today” or the music they listen to.
@juglugs I've been suffering from Geezer's Paradox since I got out of grade school. I guess I had early onset Geezer's Paradox.

@juglugs

“The Monks of Cool, whose tiny and exclusive monastery is hidden in a really cool and laid-back valley in the lower Ramtops, have a passing-out test for a novice. He is taken into a room full of all types of clothing and asked: Yo, my son, which of these is the most stylish thing to wear? And the correct answer is: Hey, whatever I select.”
