There are a lot of old-style houses in this neighbourhood but sunlight and narrow streets made them difficult to photograph. I’ll see what I can do with editing the images I took on Sunday and post what I think works.

I am no native Greek but spend a lot of time in Athens, and every time I see a house like this, it sparks my imagination of what Athens must have looked like before the #polykatoikies were raised almost everywhere and changed the face of the city drastically.
That’s how I feel. It makes me so sad, and also angry. What a beautiful city this must have been, for a little while. What a beautiful city it could have remained!

It's kind of understandable though why the #antiparochi (flats-for-land) deals were such a success in the 50s and 60s. Life is so much more convenient in a “modern” building with an elevator, hot water, and modern heating.
