Saturday is a big day for the lab at #TAGC24. Postdoc Renee is up first in the Yeast Models and Technology session, presenting her deep mutational scan on G6PD at 11:00.
Then, in the parallel Adaptation session, grad student Leah is talking about experimental evolution of freeze-thaw tolerance in yeast at 11:45. I am so glad they weren't scheduled directly head to head!
In the afternoon, I'm speaking in a workshop on A Roadmap for Publishing Education Papers. My talk is "Do's and Don'ts for Education Publishing." Please come learn from my mistakes! (Though all's well that ends well. The paper just came out earlier this year!) https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/ece3.10811
And last but not least, you can learn more about the latest and greatest curriculum development following on from that paper at my poster 1868S: Incorporating whole genome sequencing and analysis into a high school teaching lab. I'll be standing by it from 8-9.
I'll be doing live demos of our brand new tools and tutorials that try to better include sequencing analysis and visualization in our yEvo teaching lab. You can take a peek here https://yevo.org/visualize-sequencing-data/ and also try out our Mutation Browser shiny app https://yevo.org/mutation-browser/
