@passenger no, I heard it circa 2012 from a friend on Facebook, who said he saw it on Reddit.
@passenger we both frequented We Hunted The Mammoth before & after that time, so I can't rule out ANY connection
Yeah, likewise. It got coined there by some people who I thought were the original source, but it may have been parallel evolution.
2012 is definitely prior art so it may also have been a case of a purloined coinage.
