@chad πŸ˜ŽπŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘ Yup, wind turbines are truly killing too many high-flying coal miners!

@chad If beauty is in the eye of the beholder, then the UCP is going to strip mine our foothills! #abpoli #ableg
@chad yeah, and all those clearcuts are just fine, but clean sustainable energy has to be pushed out of sight???

@briankrebs @chad To be honest, you would have to compare *the thousands* of Wind turbines required to provide the same energy output this coal mine delivers. I can make the exact calculation if you give me the coal mine name.
At the end of the day, when it comes to the specific topic of the landscape, windmills are *always* the worst choice compared to all other energy production, yes even dirty coal. There's plenty of good reason to promote wind energy, but definitely not this one.

@chad

... an open-pit strip mine, of all things.

.

(Well, the mine couldn't be "ruining the view," as it's below ground level, while those windmills in the background "stick up" and are visible from a distance. πŸ™„ )

@chad and aren't they also causing the whales to die or something? Our former stable genius president said it, so it MuSt Be TrUe!
@chad As someone who lives adjacent to coal country, this hits home. So much effort into regulating turbines and solar because of the "aesthetic impact", when there are strip mines down the road.

@chad

I can hear them when the dynamite is done and the big diggers are done and the dump trucks are stopped.

@chad I rember that awesome report of a french village complaining about the wind turbines on the german side. Then the camera swings around to show the amazing sight of thw Cattenom nuclear power plant.
@chad I love that we got some massive wind farms in Texas
