Your contract portal's #AI may be eating your contracts and feeding them to other people. Even the secret ones. Very nontrivial #dataprotection risk for lawyers who use the widely popular e-signature service #DocuSign.

This statement does not reassure me.
“Data is also encrypted in transit and rest as well as anonymized and de-identified before it is used for model training.”

@JoeStewart @gvwilson I agree, and I actually love that clever statement deeply.

"Our 24–7 security staff carefully guards your valuable valuables in a certified titanium safe with four locking mechanisms, and also we leave a key out back with a bum in the alley who keeps it securely wrapped in a plastic bag under the garbage can to the left."

"We want you to know that we carefully purify and filter your water, and then run it through the storm sewer a few times, before it reaches your table as premium sparkling water." #dataprotection #ornot #AI

@JoeStewart @gvwilson … And yes, I saw that they say they deidentify it. If I am working on a confidential or privileged contract of a particular kind, and its text gets sucked into somebody's LLM, I don't have much basis for confidence that "anonymization" is going to keep my client's secrets.
