Ah, the lies we tell ourselves.
@georgetakei
I'm Dutch, we are (in)famously direct about some things, so I just buy refridgerated pizzas and eat them within a day or two.
Life's too short to deny yourself a decent amount of pizzas.πŸ˜‹
@georgetakei I bust out the Pizazz as soon as I get home from the grocery store.
Although, to be honest, frozen pizza for me is never a "when I don't feel like cooking" purchase. It is often my reason for going to the store!
@georgetakei Oooh, I feel this. At least it won’t take up space in the freezer πŸ˜„

@georgetakei

Frozen pizzas are great, because it's sooo difficult to call and have a fresh, hot, hand-made pizza delivered to your door!!!

And it's even more difficult to go over to a pizza place, order a pizza, and eat it there.

πŸ€”

@JeffGrigg yes, it is! For your options, one has to work a minimum wage job for 2 to 3 hours, vs. ~15 minutes for the frozen one.
@georgetakei

@punissuer @georgetakei

My bad.

And I'm sure one to talk, given my own history of packing my own lunch to work, and eating frozen dinners. πŸ™„

@georgetakei Personally I'd rather have a cooked pizza than a frozen one.

@georgetakei Sometimes I find I can make myself less lazy by making being lazy more work.

Get the frozen pizza, but stick it in the back of the freezer so you have to Rubik’s cube your way to it while the stirfry veggies are front and center.

@georgetakei

the problem with the frozen ones is you might as well eat the little cardboard tray it comes on. tastes about the same.

@georgetakei

Lie #2: Bake before serving.

@georgetakei Some years ago, I stopped buying frozen pizza, telling myself that, if I didn't want pizza enough to walk 10 minutes to the shop and buy a refrigerated one, I didn't really want pizza.

Unfortunately, it turns out that it takes less effort to order a delivery pizza than to go to the shop.

It also takes less effort to make one from scratch, but somehow it feels like more.

@david_chisnall @georgetakei today I walked 12 minutes to the shop to buy onions so I can make more pizza. I love how much control I have when I make pizza myself, though I'm not sure my choices make them more or less healthy than what the pizzerias sell (I make whole wheat crusts, but I also use very large amounts of cheese)
@lonjil @david_chisnall @georgetakei I strongly suspect that the quantity of oil and cheese that went into the pizzas I made last weekend made them less healthy than most that I can buy pre-made, but they had sweet potato (lightly sautΓ©ed with thyme first) pressed into the base under the other toppings and therefore counted as at least one of my five a day!

@georgetakei

I don't buy frozen pizzas. I just don't have a deep fryer big enough to cook them in. It is better to buy them from the Fish and Chip shop, they'll even dip them in batter for me.

Yeah, I'm Scottish.
