(I’m deliberately not being Section specific as it’s not.)
The only other thing I will say right now is that some Scouting Organisations would basically shrug.
It came a day late or with perfect timing, depending on how you look at it, but my purchase arrived this morning.
Yes, I now own a vintage 1930s Scout Leader Hat. A “lemon squeezer”.
It’s in top notch condition, unlike the original hat box which has a worn & detached bottom.
I was going to pair it with shorts & my kilt socks/flashes to complete the look if it had arrived as planned. I’ve offered it to my Scout Group for use in Meetings so it isn’t just sitting there.
I wasn’t aiming to make a thread of this but I also received 2 old Gilwell neckerchiefs/necker/scarves (delete as you like) in the package, which I wasn’t aware was part of the deal, they weren’t listed.
I won’t be wearing those. I’m too new to have finished my Wood Badge, it wouldn’t be right. I’ll wait until I’ve earned my own. Great to have them though.
