Hey there. In short I'm looking for potential donors as I need a live liver transplant. I've set up a bunch of information and links over at - https://ginpuliver.carrd.co/

Even if you cannot help me directly, please share this with others. There is bound to be someone out there that can help.

Thank you all in advance.

I wanna thank everyone who has been boosting this lately. It means a TON to me.

I am still looking for donors. There was a slight setback as my husband was laid off in November. We have insurance again through marketplace & things should be moving along again with this. :)

@Ginpu @PattyHanson I am unfortunately, unable to help, but I did repost this. I figured the more people that reposted, it will improve your chances of finding someone. Good luck. I sincerely hope everything works out for you.

@Ginpu While I can't personally help with this, I hope a boost will find you a match.

I didn't even know "living donors" were a thing for the liver, so that was a neat thing to read about.

@Ginpu Is it ONLY one of the O types that will work, or is O just a better possibility?
@kevin3kon O is the only type. + or - is fine.
@Ginpu do you know if obese people can donate, or is it considered too dangerous?
@justpeachy It depends. I believe when you register and add your weight and height it'll let you know if your weight would disqualify you.
@Ginpu one more question. When filling out the Florida donor screen form it emailed to me, it started talking about donating a kidney. Do you know why it says kidney instead of liver?

@justpeachy I had a friend share the screenshots and I think it asks about kidneys because the hospital also does kidney transplants. I told them for the dialysis question just say unknown.

I need to ask the clinic tomorrow why it's like that and if someone can answer it for me.

@Ginpu Hello! It’s a long shot that I’d be a compatible donor since my blood type is AB+, but I couldn’t find anything in your post about your blood type and body type—is there any way for me to know whether I could be compatible?
@evannakita the link in the post does have a spot that says what bloodtype. It was under the register section. I'm O+ so only O types would work.
@Ginpu Ah, sorry, I didn’t see that in the post! I’m sorry I can’t be a donor for you, and I really hope you find someone soon!
@evannakita Thank you either way just for looking and asking. :)
@Ginpu I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you. 🤞 #PBC is currently being actively researched and many clinical trials are being conducted. I'm very sure that you are already familiar with this but the current state might be interesting for others as well: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7820210/. All the best to you!
Current understanding of primary biliary cholangitis

Primary biliary cholangitis (PBC) causes chronic and persistent cholestasis in the liver, eventually resulting in cirrhosis and hepatic failure without appropriate treatment. PBC mainly develops in middle-aged women, but it is also common in young women ...

@LukasBrausch thanks. I know. I'm a small subset of people who just keep itching. It's caused panic attacks andelt downs with how bad it can get. I stay indoors almost all the time because of the itching. Nothing has worked and the only thing that may have worked made me think I was better off dead, aka suicidal thoughts.

I've already been with this level of discomfort for over two years. My mental health is being tested daily. I just want to be able to go back outside. To walk. To see my friends and hang out again.

@Ginpu I'm very sorry. It's hard to find the right words here, but it's important to keep in mind that you're not alone. Are there maybe any self-help groups near your place?
@LukasBrausch I see a therapist every 2 weeks and there's a support group for PBC run by the American Liver Foundation that I check in with now and then. :)
@Ginpu sorry to hear this. I'm not so deep into the "Transplant" Stuff but is it even possible to survive without one? If I remember a human only has 1 Liver. What I mean is how would the donor live?

@1000Hz There's a whole article explaining that in the link. It's a partial. Livers grow back. So I would only need a piece of a liver. 3 months later the donor's liver would be back to full size.

Also the donor's life takes precedence over mine. If there is risk for the potential donor, they are excluded. There's a whole screening process.

@Ginpu okay good to know. I really wish I could help but I have A+ Blood. I hope you find a donor asap
@Ginpu Boosting for reach. Wishing you the very best.
@Ginpu Boosted because I can't do better unfortunately, hope you'll find a donor. Take care 🙏🏻
@Testoceratops Thank you.
@Ginpu You're very welcome! Take care, wishing you the best
@Ginpu I have NO idea what my blood type is or if my liver is all to healthy myself, but I'll get on that ASAP and see if I can offer mine.
@HeroRareheart Thank you. The blood type is probably the most important part. 💜
@Ginpu Do different countries matter? I would be in EU but I don't I qualify anyways thanks to my mental health :|
@89q12 I honestly don't know how it would work for other countries. The coordinator would be able to answer that. Their number is on the carrd.
