I'm hosting a writers hashtag! The link can be found in my bio and also here https://docs.google.com/document/d/1rsTg-atAUDlrzJmMAJtFeJIzhkXqDsYrmeOFi_V7xeU/edit?usp=sharing

#KnowYourAuthors 1 Do you listen to music while you write? If yes, do you have a specific writing playlist? Did you make it yourself or was it curated for you?

I always listen to music, and I have two go to playlists. Spotifys curated Writers Mix and also my chaos playlist! I don't skip tracks ever, I just let the music take the story where it wants to.

#KnowYourAuthors 1 Do you listen to music while you write? If yes, do you have a specific writing playlist? Did you make it yourself or was it curated for you?

I also have character specific playlists for my WIPs to get muse to write certain aspects.

#KnowYourAuthors 2 Do you have a title in mind for your WIP (work in progress) as soon as you start? Do you feel like you need a title to get started?

As soon as I have a story idea, I have a working title. It isn't always the end result, but I like to have something I'm working towards. For example, #HostileTakeover is something that is more of a placeholder so you guys can see what I'm referring to with my #PennedPossibilities posts

#KnowYourAuthors 3 Who inspires you as a writer? Is it other writers? People in your life?

I am inspired by a mix of things. Music is a massive inspiration (Lets be honest here and say Taylor Swift and Noah Kahan are massive influences), but also people I met at university. I met such a range of people and characters that I usually have some kind of inspiration from them.

#KnowYourAuthors 4. Use four words to describe how you as an author feel about your current WIP. Are you happy with the way it's going?

Stressed, frustrated, cautiously hopeful.

#KnowYourAuthors 5. Would you want to be friends with your MC and/or antagonist? Why?

For my MC, yes. Grace and I have a lot in common (I write too much of myself into my characters sometimes). But there are aspects of her i like less too. When you meet her in #HostileTakeover, she’s hurting and lashing out and that isn’t the version of her i’d like to be friends with.

#KnowYourAuthors 6. Describe your ideal writing environment.

My ideal writing environment would be an adjustable desk so i can raise and lower it, two additional screens for my laptop with a separate keyboard to my laptop as well. i’d have to have my headphones on noise cancelling and full volume with one of my writing playlists, a mini fridge of drinks next to me and a lil bag of snacks so i don’t have to move.

#KnowYourAuthors 7. Do you most enjoy writing in past settings, modern day settings, or futuristic settings? When is your current WIP set?

My current WIP #HostileTakeover is basically set in present day, which is where I usually set my writing. I worry that I will be too inaccurate writing in the past, and I am not creative enough to set things in the future.

#KnowYourAuthors 8. Do you write your entire piece and then edit, or go back and edit while you’re still writing?

For my sins, I go back and edit while I'm still writing. I have 4 drafts of my first chapter of #HostileTakeover, but only 6 chapters written. So much fun.

It’s been a while…
#KnowYourAuthors 9. Do you take breaks from your writing? Is it good for you?

Yes. i haven’t touched #hostiletakeover in 4 months. It is no good for me because i lose all muse and now im struggling to get back into it.
