Man, there's a Tern GSD on eBay I was gonna get. But I read in the description that the max speed is 15mph. Strange, it's a class 1, it should be 20.
Turns out it's a UK version one, where the speed limit on e assist is 15mph. -_-

@pjrt On a work trip to Milwaukee, I rode #Bublr bike share #ebikes, and they were programmed for assist to cut out at 14.5 mph. I found it incredibly unsafe as I was often making turns in mixed traffic when the assist stopped, causing me to lose momentum unpredictably.
Using software to limit capabilities of hardware at relatively low speeds seems like a waste. #citibike lowering speed from 20 to 18 mph has caused me some close calls on Vernon Blvd, where the bike lane randomly switches sides.
@rbellinger so I guess that means you aren't a fan lol.
Idk, I'm thinking maybe having it be slower is a good thing? I'm mostly getting it so I can bring my son places
